Kenya to participate at EAPCE’23, says PS Liban
The Conference and Exhibition was mooted in 2013 and is hosted by partner states on a rotational basis. The previous edition was held in Mombasa, Kenya in May 2019 with 850 delegates in attendance. The 10th edition, scheduled for Uganda in 2021, did not take off due to challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic.
The coming edition of the conference has the theme “East Africa as a hub for Investment in Exploration and Exploitation of Petroleum Resources for Sustainable Energy and Socioeconomic Development.” Its thematic areas are exploration Preparations are at an advanced stage for Kenya’s participation at the forthcoming East African Petroleum Conference and Exhibition scheduled for May 9-11, 2023 in Kampala Uganda.
In an update, the Principal Secretary, State Department for Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Liban, says Kenya is already participating at the preparatory meetings for the organization of the event dubbed EAPCE’23. This will be the 10th edition of the Conference and Exhibition, a biannual petroleum event that brings together sector players from the East African region and beyond.

There will be 60 exhibition booths for partner states, parastatals, Oil and Gas companies, financial institutions, insurance firms and other stakeholders from the region. In addition, over 120 conference papers will be presented around the conference theme and thematic areas. Out of these, over 40 papers have been submitted by Kenya alone.
