Draft Policy

The Draft National Petroleum Policy

The State Department for Petroleum has been developing the National Petroleum Policy in collaboration with its stakeholders. Section 5(1) of the Petroleum Act tasks the Cabinet Secretary responsible for petroleum operations with the responsibility of developing and publishing the National Petroleum Policy. Such a Policy is to be reviewed once every five years.

The State Department for Petroleum has been working very closely with both its internal and external stakeholders at various times to provide input towards the development of the draft National Petroleum Policy. The document has been finalized and is now ready for discussions at the County level prior to subjecting it to Public participation.

The State Department has now uploaded the Draft National Petroleum Policy to its website and is inviting general public to give their further inputs and comments using the attached Template.

All inputs/comments be submitted to the following email:  info@petroleum.go.ke for the next 21 days beginning 17th September -  8th October 2024
